The Long Point Lions held their Pig Tail and Ribs dinner at the Port Rowan Community Centre on February 19. It was a sell-out once again and despite all the snow there was a warm welcome for all of our epicurean supporters who turn out for these community gatherings.
Spring is coming! Local Lions were selling our chocolate Easter bunnies again at the dinner.
Seventy-four Lions from our district attended the Zone Advisory meeting with our Lion Barb Margeson, Zone Chair in charge of the meeting. It was a good night for some real Lions talk and future planning of Zone 4 activities. Ten clubs were in attendance.
Long Point Lions made donations this month of $500 to Youth Exchange and $500 to Dog Guides.
The club inducted new members at the last meeting and had a record nine visitors also in attendance. The induction service was performed by the Region Chair Blair Oatman from the Tillsonburg club. New members inducted were Bruno Zitella, Stef Carroll, and Randy Willman.
Guest speaker was Past District Governor Bill MacKenzie on youth exchange worldwide.
It is a good old-fashioned winter so far, and the Lions Park has been busy with a great view of all the ice huts stretching from St. Williams to Turkey Point and then up to Port Rowan on the north shore. Lions Park at the harbour is a great place to visit and relax along with all our visitors!
