February has been a challenge for those of us pining for warm sunny days, but not everyone feels that way. This stretch of minus temperatures has thrilled the ice fishing enthusiasts. Local businesses are happy to have the traffic during the winter. Looking at the Inner Bay dotted with huts is a site to see and brings back the basic culture and community of lake life.
The Long Point Lioness Lions Club has been busy planning their spring events and planning to give back to the community. The club is forever thankful for the community’s generous support.
The club dinner meeting took place on Monday, Feb. 10, at the Country Fork with special guests Lion Bill Fick, Past Lion District Governor Tom McLarty, Lion Gary Eves, and Zone Chair Lion Barb Margeson-Eves, who officiated at the induction ceremony with club president Lioness Kathleen Denn. Linda Berry-Morgan, sponsored by Lioness Lauren Nightingale, took the oath to serve and was officially welcomed. Club membership is now at 27 members.
